ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team posted several impressive performances at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday at St. Thomas' Anderson Field House. The Scots currently sit in seventh place in the team standings with 32 points.
Leading the way for Macalester was the distance medley relay team of senior
Natalie Prescott (Roscoe, Ill./Hononegah), first year
Lily Schlieman (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou), senior
Allison Pillar (Chicago, Ill./Whitney M. Young) and senior
Eliza Ramsey (Olympia, Wash./Capital). The foursome finished second with a time of 12:37.42, which is the second-fastest time run by a Macalester DMR team.
In the individual events, senior
Kimber Meyer (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) took third in the 5000 meters in 17:24.14, over 23 seconds faster than her own school record set earlier this season. Senior
Kara Komoto (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) twice lowered her school record in the 60-meter dash, running a 7.99 in the prelims before taking fourth in the final with a time of 7.96.
Junior
Hannah Sonsalla (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) continued her outstanding season with a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters. Her time of 58.68 was just .02 off the school record she set last weekend. Also scoring in the 400 was first year
Victoria Casarrubias (Boulder, Colo./Fairview), who was sixth in 59.95.
Senior
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) followed up yesterday's sixth-place finish in the pentathlon by taking seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.43.
In the field events, senior
Sarah Silbert (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) qualified for the finals of the triple jump and narrowly missed scoring, taking ninth with a season-best leap of 33-9.5 (10.30).
