ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team competed in the first full day of the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday at the University of St. Thomas' Anderson Field House.
Senior
Lachlan Hinwood (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) led the Scots with a fourth-place finish in the mile run with a personal-best time of 4:25.26. That time also ranks eighth on Macalester's all-time performance list. Also scoring individually for the Scots was junior sprinter
Jack Schultenover (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Secondary), who qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.09. He then ran a 7.06 in the finals to place sixth and miss tying his own school record by one-hundredth of a second.
The distance medley relay team of first years
Henry Harper (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park) and
Eddy Reyes Herrera (Sonoma, Calif./Sonoma Valley), senior
Tayeb Zaidi (San Francisco, Calif./Lick-Wilmerding) and sophomore
Chris Boranian (Oakland, Calif./Head Royce) took eighth in 10:44.51. That time ranks eighth on the program's all-time performance list.
