MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Macalester College athletics department held its fundraiser, the 27th annual Mac Hac, on Monday, June 6 at scenic Mendakota Country Club in Mendota Heights, Minn. The golf outing, which includes a silent auction and "Scot Boards" with prizes, serves as a fundraiser to enhance the student-athlete experience at Macalester. The first Mac Hac was started by the Scots' legendary soccer coach John Leaney in 1990.
The foursome of John Beecher, Blaze Beecher, Kevin Lucken and Tucker Weisman won the Championship flight with a score of 61. Craig Hall, Jeff Ruehl, Bob Altman and Jeff Anderson captured the Blue flight by scorecard tiebreaker with a score of 59. The team of Ann and Bob Esson, and Mari and Dave Meyer won the Orange flight by scorecard tiebreaker with a score of 69.
Other contests were held on the course for closest to the pin, closest to the gin, longest drive and other events.
Next year's Mac Hac will be held on June 5, 2017 at Mendakota.
