ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team competed at the Meet of the UnSaintly, hosted by Hamline University on Saturday at Klas Field. No team scores were kept.
Sophomore
Jack Schultenover (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Secondary) turned in two strong performances in the sprints, placing third in both the 100 and 200 meters. His time of 22.04 seconds in the 200 was his best this season and currently ranks sixth in the MIAC. Also, junior
Aidan Hennen (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) was fourth in the 100 in 11.50. Sophomore
Brian Eisner (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) ran the 400 meter hurdles in 58.95 to take fourth.
In the distance events, senior
Alex Ropes (Pella, Iowa/Pella) took fourth in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:52.48. First year
Chris Boranian (Oakland, Calif./Head Royce) ran a season-best time of 4:06.02 to place seventh in the 1500 meters. First year
Sam Richmond (Bedford, N.H./Derryfield School) was seventh in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Senior high jumper
Logan Hovie (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) won his specialty by clearing 2.03 meters (6-8) to lead the Scots in the field events. Sophomore
Sean Hayes (Buckley, Wash./White River) threw the javelin 48.99 meters (160-9) to take second. Sophomore
Miles Keyes McKay (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.54 meters (41-1 3/4). Senior
Zach Hauser (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) set a personal best in the discus with a toss of 44.49 meters (145-11) to take sixth. Also throwing well were sophomore
David McNichols (New London, Wis./Shiocton), who was seventh in the hammer throw, and senior
Christian Stewart (New Ulm, Minn./New Ulm), who was eighth in the shot put.
Macalester will compete at the MIAC Championships on May 13-14 at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
