NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The MIAC Heptathlon Championship was held at Carleton College on Thursday and Friday, with two Macalester College athletes in the field. Junior
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) finished in seventh place, while first year
Halla Dontje Lindell (St. Peter, Minn./St. Peter) took ninth in the seven-discipline event.
Hunter totaled 3907 points, earning 793 points in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.37 seconds to rank fourth out of the 12 competitors. She was fifth in the shot put with a mark of 9.06 meters (29-8 3/4) and fifth in the 800 meters in 2:35.76.
Donje Lindell finished with 3572 points and had the eighth-best performances in the high jump, shot put and 800 meters.
The heptathlon and decathlon competitions marked the first events of the 2016 MIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will continue on May 13-14 at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn.
