WAVERLY, Iowa – Macalester College senior
Sarah Jonathan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) completed her collegiate career with a 10th-place finish in the finals of the 3000 meter steeplechase on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Wartburg College.
Jonathan turned in a time of 10:57.07 to finish 10th out of 14 runners in the final. On Thursday, she placed second in her preliminary heat to qualify for today's final. Jaqueline Huben of SUNY-Geneseo won the race in 10:38.60, followed by Erin Herrmann of Hope.
Jonathan concludes her career as Macalester's record holder in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:49.66, which earned her a second-place finish at the MIAC Championships on May 14. That time ranked 13th among the 22 athletes entered in the NCAA Championships.
