NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College men's track and field team turned in several solid performances at the Carleton Relays on Saturday. Team scores were not kept.
On the track, first year
Chris Boranian (Oakland, Calif./Head Royce) placed third in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:13.03. Sophomore
Jack Schultenover (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska Secondary) ran the 200 meters in 23.09 seconds to finish fifth out of 59 competitors. First year
Ethan Engberg (Middleton, Idaho/Middleton) took eighth in the 800 meters, while sophomore
Brian Eisner (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) placed 10th in the 400 meter hurdles.
In the field events, senior
Logan Hovie (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) took second in the high jump with a mark of 1.98 meters (6-6). Sophomore
Sean Hayes (Buckley, Wash./White River) finished in third place in the javelin with a toss of 51.00 meters (167-4), while senior
Zach Hauser (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington) threw the discus 40.02 meters (131-3) to take 11th.
Macalester hosts the Bolstorff Twilight Meet on Thursday, Apr. 28 at Macalester Stadium.
