ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team participated in the Holst Invitational, held at Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday. Team scores were not kept.
In the field events, sophomore
Clara Baumann (Wausau, Wis./Wausau) turned in a solid performance with a fourth-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 33.10 meters (108-7). Also in the field events, first year
Halla Dontje Lindell (St. Peter, Minn./St. Peter) took 11th in the triple jump.
Junior
Kimber Meyer (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) paced the Scots on the track with a fifth-place finish in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:14.56. She was the top Division III performer, following two unattached runners, and runners from Minnesota and St. Cloud State. Also in the 5000, sophomore
Lorna Sherwood-Caballero (New York, N.Y./LaGuardia HS of the Arts) placed 10th.
In the sprints, senior
Hannah Pollard-Garber (Rockville, Md./Thomas Sprigg-Wootton) took ninth out of 66 competitors in the 100 meters with a time of 12.61. Junior
Kara Komoto (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) was three spots behind Pollard-Garber in 12.74. Sophomore
Hannah Sonsalla (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) ran the 200 meters in 26.12, good for 10th place. Junior
Brooke Hunter (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater) also turned in a 10th-place performance in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.60.
Next up for Macalester is the Carleton Relays on Saturday, Apr. 23.
