ST. PAUL, Minn. – Senior high jumper
Logan Hovie (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) won the high jump event as the Macalester College men's track and field team competed at the Holst Invitational, hosted by Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday. No team scores were kept.
Hovie cleared 1.98 meters (6-6) to win his eighth high jump competition in nine events this year. The three-time All-American was named the MIAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week following his victory at the Hamline Invitational on Apr. 3. Also in the field events, sophomore
Miles Keys McKay (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) placed eighth in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 13.17 meters (43-2.5).
On the track, first year
Chris Boranian (Oakland, Calif./Head Royce) finished fourth in the 5000 meters with a time of 16:21.42. First year
Mac Doherty (Madison, Wis./Madison East) won his heat in the 1500 and placed 14th overall out of 47 competitors in 4:12.85.
The Scots travel to Northfield, Minn., for the Carleton Relays on Saturday, Apr. 23.
