NORTHFIELD, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team wrapped up competition on the final day of the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday at Carleton College. The Scots finished with 23 points to take 11th in the team standings.
Sophomore sprinter
Hannah Sonsalla (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) turned in Macalester's top performance of the meet with a second-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 26.34 seconds. She then helped the Scots take sixth in the 4x400 meter relay along with seniors
Hannah Pollard-Garber (Rockville, Md./Thomas Sprigg-Wootton) and
Erin Porter (Aztec, N.M./Aztec), and first year
Gabby Ivy (St. Louis, Mo./John Burroughs) in 4:07.17.
In the field events, first year
Halla Dontje Lindell (St. Peter, Minn./St. Peter) placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.49 meters (34-5).
The outdoor season begins for the Scots on Apr. 2 at the Hamline Invite.
