NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Macalester College senior
Logan Hovie (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) repeated as conference champion in the high jump on the final day of the MIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at Carleton College. The Scots tallied points in three other events on Saturday to finish with 20 points.
Hovie cleared a season-best 2.08 meters (6-9 3/4) to move to 12th on the latest Division III national performance list. He will attempt to improve upon his fifth-place finish at last year's NCAA Division III Indoor Championships at Grinnell College next weekend.
Sophomore
Nolan Ebner (Chevy Chase, Md./Bethesda Chevy Chase), who took sixth in the 800 meters on Friday, placed seventh in the 600 meters with a time of 1:23.19. The Scots' 4x200 meter relay team of senior
Jack Reece (Boulder, Colo./Broomfield), junior
Peace Madimusta (Harare, Zimbabwe/United World College) and sophomores
Brian Eisner (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal) and
Jack Schultenover (Glenwood, Minn./Minnewaska) finished seventh in 1:34.53.
In the field events, sophomore
Miles Keys McKay (Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz) took eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 13.00 meters (42-8).
The outdoor season begins for the Scots on Apr. 2 at the Hamline Invite.
