COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. – The Macalester College women's track and field team participated in the Saint Benedict Alumni Triangular Saturday afternoon at the Donald McNeely Spectrum. No team scores were kept, as the Scots turned in two individual first-place finishes.
Sophomore sprinter
Hannah Sonsalla (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) won the 200 meters in 26.73 seconds. Other solid performances on the track included senior
Hannah Pollard-Garber (Rockville, Md./Thomas Sprigg-Wootton) taking second in the 60 meters, first year
Phoebe Aguiar (Prairie Village, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) placing second in the 400, and senior
Sarah Jonathan (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) finishing second in the 800. Additionally, junior
Kara Komoto (Rice Lake, Wis./Rice Lake) and senior
Erin Porter (Aztec, N.M./Aztec) were third in the 60 meters and 400 meters, respectively.
In the field events, senior
Risa Luther (Portland, Ore./Franklin) won the weight throw with a personal-best mark of 13.47 meters (44-2 1/2).
Macalester's next meet is the University of Minnesota Parents' Day Open on Saturday, Feb. 20.
