ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Macalester College men's cross country team took 9th overall at MIAC Cross Country Championships, matching their finish from a year ago. The Scots were the hosting school of the annual event held at Como Park in St. Paul, Minn.
The St. Olaf men defended their title for the 5th year in a row behind an individual win by Joe Coffey. The senior Ole covered the 8-kilometer course in 25:56.9.
For the Scots, first across was senior Lachlan Hinwood (Colfax, Wis./Colfax) in 28th overall finishing in 27:02.6.
The rest of the Scots' scorers were underclassmen. First, a pair of sophomores
Chris Boranian (Oakland, Calif./Head-Royce School) and
Mac Doherty (Madison, Wis./Madison East) finished in 44th (27:32.4) and 47th (27:38.4), respectively.
Two first years closed out the scoring.
Henry Harper (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park) crossed in a time of 27:53.0 for 61st.
Jake Lepak (St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis University High) took 88th place clocking in at 28:19.4.
The Mac Pack will close out their season at the Central Region Championships on November 13, hosted by Carleton College.
