MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Macalester College men's cross country team competed at the 2015 Division III Griak Invitational on Saturday.
Lachlan Hinwood led the Scots, with a seventh place overall finish. Macalester finished 9th overall in the team standings out of 15 teams.
Hinwood ran the course at Les Bolstad Golf Course in 27:35.2. Matt Berens from Bethel University was the overall winner, finishing in 26:30.0 to help the Royals to a third place team finish.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh took first place as a team.
Senior
Alex Ropes and sophomore
Nate Merrill were next to cross for the Scots. Ropes ran the course in 29:00.1 to finish 35th overall. Merill (29:23.8) posted a 47th place finish.
Mac Doherty and
Spencer Nelson rounded out the top five for the Mac Pack, finishing in 29:31.9 and 30:11.7, respectively.
Macalester will return to action on Oct. 3 as they compete in the Carleton Invite.
