DECORAH, Iowa—The Macalester College women's cross country team traveled to the campus of Luther College where they competed in the 44th Annual All-American Invitational today. The Scots finished in second only behind tournament host and preseason #26 Luther College (Division III National Coaches Poll).
Kimber Meyer led the way for the Scots, finishing in third place overall with a 5k time of 18:26.6.
Leanne Pompeani, a first year out of Iowa Central was the overall meet winner. Pompeani finished in 17:42.6.
Macalester senior
Sarah Jonathan found her stride, coming in second for the Scots and ninth overall (19:40.6).
Elena Torry-Schrag (19:52.5),
Elena Smith (20:00.7) and
Eliza Ramsey (20:05.7) rounded out the top five for Macalester and finished 14th, 15th, and 16th respectively overall.

Macalester finished with a team score of 50. Luther grabbed first place with a score of 34. Luther Alumni, Iowa Central, Hamline and Iowa Lakes Community College completed the team standings.
Macalester will return to action on Sept. 19 as they compete in the St. Olaf College Invitational.
