Logan Hovie is the lone point scorer for Macalester so far, raking in all ten after winning the high jump. Hovie jumped a Macalester and personal best, 2.10-meters. He broke the previous outdoor high jump record of 2.08-meters that was set in 1976 by Scott Davis. It was an exciting event as Hovie and Concordia-Moorhead's Brandon Zylstra battled to the very end. Zylstra also cleared 2.10-meters, but Hovie cleared it on an earlier attempt to take the crown.
