PELLA, Iowa – The Macalester College women's cross country team competed at the 2015 Central Region Championships in Pella, Iowa hosted by Central College Saturday afternoon. The Scots posted a 7th place finish (out of 30 teams) and walked away with two All-Region performances led by
Kimber Meyer who will advance to the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

St. Thomas earned the 2015 Central Region title followed by two other MIAC competitors, Carleton College and St. Olaf. Carlton senior Ruth Steinke was the overall winner (for the second straight year).
Kimber Meyer finished 5th overall and has qualified for the Division III national meet on Nov. 21 in Oshkosh, Wis. Meyer completed the 6k-course in 22:11.78.
The Scots' next finisher also achieved All-Region status (given to the top 35 runner
s). Senior
Sarah Jonathan was 30th overall, timing in at 23:19.70. Junior
Eliza Ramsey was just shy of All-Region status, coming in 36th overall (23:30.52).
Elena Smith (24:05.28) and
Lorna Sherwood Caballero (24:18.10) rounded out the top five for Macalester, finishing in 61st and 71st places, respectively.
The top two teams and additional at large teams and the top seven individuals (not on qualifying teams) advance to the Division III national meet, November 21 in Oshkosh, Wis.
