PELLA, Iowa – The Macalester College men's cross country team competed at the 2015 Central Region Championships in Pella, Iowa hosted by Central College Saturday afternoon. The Scots posted a 17th place finish (out of 28 teams) with junior Lachlan Hinwood leading the way.

St. Olaf earned the 2015 Central Region title as the top five St. Olaf finishers all placed in the top 20. Central College senior, Cole Decker, was the overall champion after completing the 8k-course in 25:05.07.

Lachlan Hinwood led the Mac Pack with a 46th place finish, running in 26:48.90. Senior AlexRopes was the Scots' next finisher, grabbing 72nd place (27:28.15). First year Mac Doherty was the third Scot to cross the line, timing in at 27:45.14 (88th place).
 
Nate Merrill and Spencer Nelson rounded out the top five for the Scots. Merrill timed in at 28:29.64 (122nd place) and Nelson in 29:24.11 (153rd).

The top two teams and additional at large teams and the top seven individuals (not on qualifying teams) advance to the Division III national meet, November 21 in Winneconne, Wis.
