ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Macalester College women's cross country team competed at the St. Kate's Invite today, defeating five oppenents to earn first place overall as a team.
Kimber Meyer led the Scots, winning the 4k race held on the campus of St. Catherine University in 14:39.006.
Macalester finished with a team score of 36. Luther College finished in second, scoring 56 team points. Bethel's Annika Halverson finished in second overall, timing in at 15:03.843.

Kimber won the race by over 24 seconds (117 runner field). Teammate
Sarah Jonathan picked up a third place overall finish, running the course in 15:13.133.
Eliza Ramsey also cracked the top ten, finishing in seventh overall and posting a time of 15:32.036.

Betsy Emerson recapped the team's performance today stating, "I'm so happy that we met our team goal of winning today's race! The women look good right now and will get better as we get into post season."

Gretchen Greene were the fourth and fifth finishers for Macalester today. Smith was 12th overall (15:54.513) and Greene came moments after, finishing 13th in 15:54.723.
Macalester will return to action on Oct. 17 as they travel to Ettrick, Wis. to compete in the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invite.
