RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- Macalester had five of the top 13 collegiate runners, had all seven of its scorers place among the top 17, and the Scots totalled 41 points in running to the Falcon Invitational title at Kilkarney Hills Golf Club.
Mira Ensley-Field was second overall and first among collegiate runners, covering the 6,000-meter course in a time of 23 minutes, 2.9 seconds.
The main pack of Scot runners, numbers two through seven, finished with 43 seconds of each other.
Sarah Jonathan was seventh among scoring runners in 23:54.0 while
Carmen Garson-Shumway was ninth in 24:08.1.
Lorna Sherwood-Caballero, 11th in 24:14.7, and Sarah Joe Devore, 13th in 24:26.5, rounded out Macalester's top five runners while Lea Davison, 16th in 24:33.2, and
Megan Davitt, 17th in 24:36.1, completed the group of Scots' scoring runners.
The next two weekends see Macalester taking part in its two biggest meets of the season. Saturday, Sept. 20, the Scots take part in the St. Olaf Invitational, which gets underway at 11 a.m., where approximately 40 teams are expected to compete.
The following Saturday, Sept. 27, Macalester will take part in the nation's largest collegiate meet of the season, the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota. The women's Division III meet gets underway at 9 a.m.
