Complete Manitou Classic resultsMacalester's women's track & field team produced many standout performances Wednesday at the St. Olaf Manitou Classic in Northfield while competing with athletes from St. Olaf, St. Thomas, UW-Superior, Carleton, St. Catherine, UW-Eau Claire, Northwestern (Minn.) and Concordia-Moorhead. Several Scots turned in first-place efforts.
Irene Gibson (Jr., Carmel, Ind.) placed first out of 22 entrants in the 800-meter run (2:22.14) as the Scots had three of the top four finishers in this event.
Kimber Meyer Fy., Naperville, Ill. / North) breezed to a win in the 1500-meter run (4:48.57) and
Sarah Jonathan (So., Guilford, Conn.) won the 3000-meter steeplechase in school-record time (11:42.61).
Runner-up individual finishes for the Scots came from
Emily Diener (Jr., Duluth, Minn. / Marshall) in the 400 dash (1:01.26),
Brooke Hunter (Fy., Stillwater, Minn.) in the 100 hurdles (17.04).
Anna Schmitz (Sr., St. Paul, Minn. / Central) was third behind Meyer in the 1500 (5:02.05).
The Scots are off until they host the Janis Rider Invitational on April 26.
