Alison Caro, ATC, MATA Outstanding Athletic Trainer Award:   Last summer Alison Caro, athletic trainer with Macalester College and Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists-Allina Health was instrumental in the care of patient that was facing a life threatening emergency.  This incident occurred during a triathlon event in August.   A female triathlete entered the medical tent not feeling well.  Her condition deteriorated and it became clear to Alison and the medical team that this was becoming a life threatening emergency with a cardiac condition who required ACLS.  She was stabilized prior to being transported to the hospital. Due to the quick and immediate response she had a complete recovery.  Dr. Margarita Sevilla commented on how quickly Alison and the rest of the medical team responded and how they remained calm during the entire process.
