Women's Cross Country: Meyer seventh at NCAA championships.

Macalester sophomore earn All-America honors for second consecutive season.

WILMINGTON, Ohio -- Kimber Meyer finished seventh at the NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championships to earn All-America honors for the second consecutive year.

Meyer finished the 6,000-meter course in 21 minutes, 49.4 seconds. She finished in a pack of 10 runners, third through 12th, who finished within 30 seconds of each other.

Amy Regan of Stevens Institute won the meet in a time of 20:51.9, while Johns Hopkins won the team title with 87 points, 25 better than MIT.

Last year, Meyer was 22nd overall in a time of 21:50.6 in earning All-America honors in her first collegiate season.

Head Coach Betsy Emerson recapped Meyer's performance stating, "I am so happy for Kimber. She was incredibly tough on a very muddy, wet and challenging course. The conditions were tough, but Kimber was tougher! She is now four for four in earning All-American status in every national race she has partcipated in. To be in the top seven today was tremendous."

Kimber's performance today lands her high on the map of historical bests for Macalester. In 1983, Macalester notched its first All-American cross-country performers in Linda Zeman who finished 4th at Nationals and Julia Kirtland who placed 6th. Kirtland went on to finish 1st, 2nd and 5th during the remainder of her time at Macalester. Beyond Kirtland,  Meyer now becomes the only other two-time All-American.
