NFCA Division III All-Midwest Region team
A few days after being named to the all-conference team,
Miranda Stokes (So., Perry, Utah / Box Elder) has picked up National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) all-region honors. A left fielder and pitcher, Stokes has been chosen to the NCAA Division III All-Midwest Region third team.
Stokes belted a team-best eight home runs on the season and led the Scots in slugging percentage (.683) an on-base average (.447). She batted .392 in 40 games with 25 RBI, 22 runs scored and nine doubles.
She was also the team's pitching ace, going 6-8 with a 4.57 earned run average. Stokes fanned 67 batters in 72 innings pitched.
A left-fielder and pitcher, Stokes put together a standout sophomore campaign. Stokes batted .392 in 40 games (47-120) with 25 RBI, 22 runs, nine doubles and led the team in home runs (8) and slugging percentage .683. In the circle, she was 6-8 with a team-leading 4.57 ERA.
The Midwest Region is made up of teams from Minnesota, Iowa and Missouri.
