Macalester vs. St. Mary's box score

Macalester hopes of getting into the post-season MIAC playoffs took a hit Saturday afternoon at Hayden Courts when St. Mary's toppled the Scots 6-3 by winning two of the three doubles matches and four of six singles matches.  The Scots drop to 7-8 overall and 2-5 in the MIAC, while SMU is 17-6 on the season, 4-5 in the MIAC.

The Scots gained wins at second and fourth singles.  Stephen Tyndel (Sr., Toronto, Ont. / City Academy) won at No. 2 and Max Soghikian (Jr., Piedmont, Calif.) pulled out a third set tiebreaker at No. 4 to raise his team-best record to 11-3 in duals.  Soghikian is 5-2 in conference play.

Winning easily at No. 2 doubles were Tyndel and Soghikian, who are now 7-8 as a team.

Mac plays host Sunday to Concordia-Moorhead.
