Renee Jordan (Anchorage, Alaska / Steller Secondary School) wrapped up a great junior season by placing eighth in 1-meter diving and ninth in 3-meter diving at the NCAA Division III Championships in Shenandoah, Texas. She dove Wednesday on the 3-meter board and Friday on the 1-meter board.
The MIAC Diver of the Year and NCAA Central Region and MIAC champ in 3-meter diving, Jordan was 13th in Wednesday's preliminary round competition on the 3-meter board, and had the top consolation score (a school-record 488.25) to place ninth overall.
In Friday's 1-meter event, Jordan got off to a good start and was the fifth of eight qualifiers for the finals (433.10), which were held towards the end of the evening session. She was eighth in the finals (421.40) to earn All-America honors.
National diving champs were Maria Zarka (Kenyon) on the 3-meter board (514.25) and Danica Roskos (College of New Jersey) on the 1-meter board (466.65).
