Box Score
After passing Concordia and moving into the top spot in the MIAC, the Scots were dropped 1-0 on a penalty kick early in the second overtime session to escape with a 1-0 win over Macalester in Moorhead. The Cobbers extend their winning streak over Macalester to nine and regain the MIAC lead at 7-2-1 (11-5-1 overall), while the Scots, after winning eight straight, drop to 7-3 in the league and 11-4-1 overall.
Seventy-one seconds into the second of two 10-minute overtime sessions, Concordia was awarded a penalty kick and converted to break up the defensive-minded scoreless shutout.
Macalester out-shot Concordia 13-10 overall and 5-2 in tries on net, and led 6-2 in corner kick opportunities.
The Scots are now 0-9 against Concordia since tying the Cobbers in 2006.
Macalester play Saturday (Nov.2) at home at 1 p.m. against St. Mary's. A win would send the Scots to next week's four-team MIAC playoffs.
