Macalester vs. Nazareth box score

The Scots played their first of five Spring Break matches at Hilton Head, South Carolina, on Sunday and lost a hard-fought 5-4 match to Nazareth (N.Y.).  Macalester is now 4-7 on the season.

Carmen Whitehead (So., Greeley, Colo. / West) and Lucy Miner (Sr., Seattle, Wash. / Ballard) accounted for three of Mac's four wins.  Whitehead won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 singles, Miner won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 singles, and at No. 3 doubles they paired up to win an easy 8-0 decision.

Macalester's other win came from Kate Glenna (Fy., Winona, Minn.), who registered a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles.

Macalester plays tomorrow against Spring Arbor (Mich.).
