Macalester vs. Northwestern box score

Macalester began its quest for a third straight winning season with a 9-0 sweep over Northwestern-Roseville Saturday night at the Leonard Center Field House.

All singles matches were won by the Scots in straight sets. Winning for Macalester were Stephanie Lee (Sr., Camarillo, Calif. / Oaks Christian) at No. 1; Amanda Wenzel (Sr., Green Bay., Wis. / Southwest) at No 2; Paige Schaefer (Fy., Madison, Wis. / East) at No. 3; Abby Citrin (Jr., Rye Brook, N.Y. / Blind Brook) at No. 4; Louise Dickson (Jr., North Oaks, Minn. / Mounds View) at No. 5; and Lucy Miner (So., Seattle, Wash. / Ballard) at No. 6.

Lee and Wenzel claimed an 8-2 win at first doubles; Schaefer and Citrin won a close 8-5 match at second doubles; and Dickson and Maddie Vargo (Fy., California, Pa.) won at third doubles.

The Scots don't return to competitive action until they open MIAC play Feb. 27 at Carleton.
