Complete Bethel Open results

Macalester's second indoor meet of the winter season was a good one for the Scots, who turned in some strong performances at the Bethel Open in Arden Hills. The Scots went up against athletes from Bethel, Augsburg, Northwestern, North Central and St. Catherine, as well as some top unattached entrants.

After some fast sprints in the season-opener last week at UW-Stout, Emily Matthews (Sr., Fort Collins, Colo. / Rocky Mountain) continues her good start to the campaign. Matthews placed third out of 25 entrants in the 200-meter dash (26.91) and also took fourth in the 400 dash (60.65).

Shasta Webb (Fy., Los Gatos, Calif.) made the 55-meter dash finals and placed eighth (7.92) and added a ninth-place finish in the 200 dash (28.19).

Erin Lowrey (Sr., Whitefish Bay, Wis.) placed third in the 3000-meter run (10:54.38) and Emily Matthews (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) was third in the long jump (16-1 / 4.90m).  Kira Spencer (Sr., Iowa City, Ia. / West) placed fourth in the 1000-meter run (3:23.82).

The Scots are back in action next Saturday (Feb. 13) at Carleton's Meet of the Hearts in Northfield.
