Men’s Cancer Awareness Day is Oct. 8

On Friday (Oct. 8), Macalester will be hosting Men's Cancer Awareness Day at the men's soccer match. This event is hosted by Macalester's Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).

Please come to learn facts about men's cancer, win prizes, and support the Scots as they take on Saint Mary's at 7:30 pm at Macalester Stadium.

Please wear Blue shirts in support of the fight against men's cancer!

Facts about testicular cancer:
• TC is the most common form of cancer for men between the ages of 15 and 35.
• Researchers found that being at least a weekly marijuana smoker increased a man's risk of testicular cancer by 70%.
• Testicular Cancer is one of the most curable forms of cancer.
• There are about 8,250 new cases of testicular cancer each year. A man's lifetime risk of getting testicular cancer is about 1 in 300.
• The American Cancer Society's most recent estimates for the United States:
• about 380 men will die of testicular cancer
