The Student Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) from Macalester and St. Thomas are working together to organize a food and fund drive during the women's soccer game between Macalester and St. Thomas on Sunday, October 24th at 7:30 p.m.

Donations will go to a local food bank in St. Paul, Second Harvest Heartland, the largest food bank in the Upper Midwest. Second Harvest Heartland serves 59 counties in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

For every $1 donated, Second Harvest Heartland is able to distribute $9 worth of food based on the partnerships it has with local businesses. The Macalester SAAC has previously hosted food and fund drives for Second Harvest Heartland during basketball games and the Macalester vs. St. Thomas football game last year.

The goal for this year is to collect the equivalent of 1000 meals.

Donations (either food or money) will be collected during the game on October 24th at Macalester Stadium. If you are unable to attend the game but are near the Macalester campus, donations boxes will be around campus this week.
