Complete St. Catherine University Invitational results
Macalester placed fourth out of eight teams Saturday at the St. Catherine Invitational, receiving first-place efforts from three swimmers.
Hillary Frey (So., Portland, Ore. / St. Mary's Academy) won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:38.22),
Karoline Hart (So., Rexford, N.Y. / Niskayuna) took first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.23) and
Grace Fleming (So., Northampton, Mass.) placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:03.24).
In addition to winning the 200 breaststroke, Frey finished runner-up in the 400-yard individual medley (4:57.02) and fourth in the 200 IM (2:20.61).
Clare Pillsbury (So., Baraboo, Wis.) placed third in the 1650-yard freestyle (19:18.67) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:21.00).
Sarah Ellerton (Sr., Suffield, Conn. / Suffield Academy) also had a big meet, placing fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:14.32) and seventh in the 50 free (27.42). Placing sixth in the 200 breaststroke was
Hannah Fong (So., Altedena, Calif. / Westridge )(2:49.11).
Eighth-place Mac finishers were Fleming in the 200 IM (2:23.08),
Suzanne Oh (Fy., Waukesha, Wis.) in both the 50 free (27.51) and 200 free (2:16.51), and Hart in the 100 free (58.83).
The Scots host the Macalester Invitational next Friday and Saturday (Jan. 29-30) at the Leonard Center's Riley Pool. Events begin Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m.
