Complete U of M Roy Griak Invitational results
Macalester raced in the huge 35-team University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational (Maroon Division) at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights and placed 21st in this highly-competitive field.
Wade Ekstrom (Sr., La Crescent, Minn.) placed 20th out of 370 runners to lead the way for the Scots.
After placing third last weekend out of 244 at the St. Olaf Invitational, Ekstrom finished 21st with a clocking of 26:31 on the 8-kilometer layout. He was fifth best among MIAC runners.
UW-La Crosse beat UW-Platteville and Emory (Ga.) for the team title.
Also placing in the top one-fourth of the field was
Carl Biggers (So., Verona, Wis.), who finished in 79th (27:37.4). The team's No. 3 runner was
Nick Mangigian (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich. / Greenhill), who made the top-half of the field with a 159th place finish (28.40.9).
Ollie St. John (So.,Washington, D.C. / Edmund Burke School) was 190th (29.06.5).
The Scots compete next Friday (Oct. 2) at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational in Colfax, Wis.
