Complete St. Olaf Invitational results

Wade Ekstrom (Sr., La Crescent, Minn.) ran to an outstanding third-place finish out of 244 runners to lead Macalester to a ninth-place finish at the St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield. Ekstrom finished the 8000-meter race in 25:59. As a team, the Scots were ninth out of 17.

Minnesota State-Mankato topped St. John's and St Thomas for the team title. The only runners to cross the finish line ahead of Ekstrom were James Krajsa of MSU-Mankato (25:21) and Dobuol Ruon of St. Olaf (25:44).

Carl Biggers (So., Verona, Wis.) also had a big race for the Scots, placing 17th with a 26:56 time. Ollie St. John(So., Washington, D.C. / Edmund Burke) placed 57th (28:05) and Nick Mangigian (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich. / Greenhill) was 71st (28:24).

Macalester races next Saturday morning at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights (Les Bolstad Golf Course / Larpenteur Ave. & Cleveland) at 10:30 a.m.
