Andrew Yokom (Sr., Arden Hills, Minn. / Mounds View) and
Wade Ekstrom (Jr., La Crescent, Minn.) earned fifth-place finishes over the weekend to lead the way for Macalester at the MIAC Indoor Track & Field championships at Concordia College in Moorhead.
Yokom took fifth in the 400-meter dash (50.31) and Ekstrom finished fifth in the 5000-meter run (15:13.99).
Martin Stenman-Andersson (Jr., Uppsala, Sweden / IT Gymnasiet Uppsala) made the finals of the long jump and placed seventh (20-9 / 6.32m).
Macalester's best relay finish – and best overall finish - was a fourth turned in by the 4x200 relay team (1:33.49). Relay team members were
Kevin Williams (Sr., Kingston, Jamaica), Andersson,
Alex Rosselli (Jr., Columbus, Ind. / North) and
Palmer Fliss (So., Medway, Mass.).
Ollie St. John (Fy., Washington, D.C. / Edmund Burke School) finished 12th in the mile (4.36.51) and 13th in the 1000 meters (2:38.59). He was the top-placing frosh in the 1K and second fastest frosh in the mile.
St. Thomas won the team championship over runner-up Hamline for its 25th straight title. The Scots finished 10th.
