Macalester vs. Hope box score

Macalester fought back from a very rare loss at first doubles to knock off a strong Hope (Mich.) team 5-4 at Hilton Head, South Carolina.

The Scots won four of the six singles matches and claimed their third straight team triumph after an 0-4 start by getting an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles from Amanda Wenzel (Jr., Green Bay, Wis. / Southwest) and Becky Schneider (Sr., Larchmont, N.Y. / Mamaroneck) .

Singles winners for Macalester were Angie Horner (Jr., Bismarck, N.D. / Century) at No. 1, Stephanie Lee (Jr., Camarillo, Calif. / Oaks Christian) at No. 2, Amanda Wenzel (Jr., Green Bay, Wis. / Southwest) at No. 3, and Kelli Crescenti (Fy., Los Angeles, Calif. / Hart) at No. 5.

Horner moves to a perfect 7-0 on the season. Lee and Wenzel are 5-2 and Crescenti is 3-3.

Macalester plays tomorrow against St. Lawrence (N.Y.).
