Macalester earned a pair of 9-0 wins Saturday at the Leonard Center to even its record on the season at 4-4. The Scots topped Cornell (Ia.) in the morning and came up that evening to sweep Northwestern-Roseville.
Earning a pair of straight set singles victories for the Scots were
Charlie Edelman (Sr., Tucson, Ariz. / University) at No. 1;
Michael Coleman (So., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) at No. 2,
Chris Fowler (Fy., Toronto, Ontario / Royal St. Georges) at No. 3;
Ali Bandeali Fy., Karachi, Pakistan / Karachi Grammar School) at No. 4;
Evan Elderbrock (Fy., Madison, Wis. / West) at No. 5; and
Reed Larson (Sr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) at No. 6.
Bandeali is now a team-best 5-1 in singles play, while Fowler improves to 6-2.
Macalester returns to action this weekend with important MIAC matches at Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville. The Scots play St. Mary's Friday (March 6) at 6 p.m. and take on Concordia-Moorhead Saturday (March 7) at 12 noon.
