Macalester vs. St. Cloud State box score

Macalester took on St. Cloud State Sunday at Gold Tennis Center in Sartell and had some good performances in a 7-2 loss to the Huskies. SCSU went 16-10 a year ago and was an NCAA Division II regional playoff team a year ago. St. Cloud State raises its record to a perfect 4-0, while Macalester is now 2-2 heading into the conference season.

Macalester's wins came at third singles and third doubles.

Chris Fowler (Fy., Toronto, Ont. / Royal St. Georges) picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3. The Scots played to close 8-5 defeats at first and second doubles, but at No. 3, received an 8-6 victory from Evan Elderbrock (Fy., Madison, Wis. / West) and Titus Levy (Jr., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School).  Elderbrock dropped a close 3-6, 4-6 battle at fifth singles.

The Scots return to Gold's Tennis Center next  Sunday (Feb. 15) to begin the MIAC campaign against St. John's.
