Macalester vs. Martin Luther box score

Macalester won all six singles matches and all three doubles matches to sweep Martin Luther 9-0 Saturday in the first varsity tennis match played at Mac's new Leonard Center. The Scots are now 2-1 on the young season heading into a match tomorrow at St. Cloud State.

Straight set singles winners for the Scots were Michael Coleman (So., Westlake Village, Calif. / Agoura) at No. 1, Chris Fowler (Fy., Toronto, Ont. / Royal St. George's) at No. 2, Titus Levy (Jr., New York, N.Y. / Fieldston School) at No. 3, Evan Elderbrock (Fy., Madison, Wis. / West) at No. 4, Ali Bandeali (Fy., Karachi, Pakistan / Karachi Grammar School) at No. 5 and Reed Larson (Sr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) at No. 6.

Coleman and Charlie Edelman (Sr., Tucson, Ariz. / University) won their match at first doubles. Also taking doubles sets were Levy and Elderbrock at No. 2, and Bandeali and Larson at No. 3.

After playing tomorrow against St. Cloud State, an NCAA Division II regional playoff team from a year ago and a 6-3 winner today over IIAC power Luther, the Scots begin MIAC play next Saturday (Feb. 14) at St. John's. Both the St. Cloud State and St. John's matches will be at Gold's Gym in Sartell.
