Complete 2008-09 College Sporting News post-season conference honors
Macalester
Colin Keeley (So., Kildeer, Ill. / Stevenson) and
Kyle Hamblett (So. Paris, France / American School of Paris) have been recognized by College Sporting News as honorable mention All-MIAC picks. CSN named Carleton's Zach Johnson as player of the year. These honors are unrelated to the official post-season MIAC awards.
Eighteen players were selected to the first, second and third teams, while Keeley and Hamblett were two of eight honorable mention picks.
Keeley came up two games short of qualifying for the MIAC statistical charts because he missed the final seven games with a broken hand, but before that was ranked in the top ten in the league in scoring. In 13 conference games, Keeley averaged 14.9 points and 5.7 rebounds per night. He would have been sixth in the MIAC in scoring had he played in two more games.
Hamblett finished the campaign ranked 10th in the MIAC with a 12.4 scoring average. He was also in the top-15 in the MIAC in field goal percentage (.495), free throw percentage (.724) and steals (1.4).
