The 2009 NCAA Division III All-North Region team

Macalester forward Emily Bardwell (Jr., Denver, Colo. / East) and defender Maddie Mette (Sr., Burnsville, Minn.) have been selected by region coaches to the Division III All-North Region team, as sponsored by adidas and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).  Both are first team picks and will go forward for All-America consideration.

Bardwell and Mette led Macalester to a 13-5-2 regular-season record, a runner-up finish in the MIAC playoffs, and a berth in the NCAA Division III championships. The Scots reached the second round of the national playoffs.

Bardwell scored 16 of her team's 34 goals and her 16 goals is topped by only five other players in the history of the program (all are All-Americans). She ranked third in the MIAC with eight goals in 11 MIAC games.

Mette was a four-year starter for the Scots and started all 79 Macalester matches since the start of the '06 campaign. She led a veteran defense which allowed just 22 goals in 22 games, and also had a goal and three assists.
