Complete Roger Ahlman Invitational results
Macalester claimed runner-up honors out of five teams at the Roger Ahlman Invitational at Riley Pool. Runaway winner St. Thomas finished with 694 points, while Macalester (192) beat St. Mary's (156) for second place.
Jeff Yamashita (Jr., Honolulu, Hi. / Iolani School) produced a third-place finish and a pair of fourths to lead the way for the Scots. He placed third out of 25 entrants in the 100-yard freestyle (50.32), fourth of 26 in the 50 freestyle (22.60) and fourth in the 100 butterfly (56.83).
Nathan Young (Sr., Denver, Colo. / Littleton) placed second in the 100 backstroke (54.66) to post the team's best individual finish.
Swimming to a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay (1:58.46) were
Christian Bangert (Fy., Pinckney, Mich.),
Bobbi Gass (Sr., Bellingham, Wash.),
Ted Metz (Fy., Teaneck, N.J.) and
Kai Cowger (Fy., Elgin, S.C. / Spring Valley). Taking second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:30.22) were Yamashita, Young,
Paco Venneri (So., Los Alamos, N.M.) and
Jackson Gilkey (Fy., Millis, Mass. / Xaverian Brothers).
Macalester hosts the two-day Great Scot Invitational Dec. 4-5 at Riley Pool for its next competition.
