The Macalester men’s and women’s soccer teams clinched MIAC playoff berths with wins this past weekend and are set for conference semi-final tilts this Tuesday and Wednesday (Nov. 3-4). MIAC playoff winners receive automatic berths in the NCAA Division III championship playoffs.
Admission to MIAC soccer playoff matches are $7 for adults and $3 for students.
Complimentary tickets for both Tuesday's match at UST and Wednesday night's home match will be available to Macalester students. Mac students can pick up tickets at the Campus Center Information Desk beginning at 11 a.m. today by showing their Mac ID card.
On Tuesday, Coach John Leaney and the No. 3-seeded Macalester women’s team make the short trip to St. Thomas to take on the second-seeded Tommies. The other MIAC semi-match is No. 1 Concordia vs. No. 4 Carleton in Moorhead. The Scots have made the conference playoffs all seven years they have been staged.
Coach Ian Barker and the No. 2-seed Macalester men’s team is host Wednesday night (Nov. 4) to No. 3 St. Olaf at 7:30 p.m. [
click here for live webcast] The other semi-final game features No. 1 Carleton at home against No. 4 St. Thomas. The Scots are making their first appearance in the league post-season since 2005.
