Saturday (Oct. 17) is Macalester's fourth annual “Take a Kid to the Game” day when the Scots play host to the University of Chicago at 1 p.m.
“Take a Kid to the Game” is an NCAA-sponsored event that promotes college football at the grass-roots level. Furthermore, it brings awareness to the importance of football in youth's lives as well as child safety.
Every child Saturday receives a Child ID Kit free of charge (which can be pick up at the table next to the concessions stand). This kit will allow parents to fingerprint a child, get a DNA sample and make an ID card to aid in child safety. Over 800,000 children are missing every year, one every 40 seconds, so let's do our best to ensure their safety.
