Complete Macalester Invitational 2 results

Jeff Yamashita (So., Honolulu, Hi. / Iolani) won the 100-yard butterfly and placed second in the 400 individual medley to lead the Scots to a third-place finish at the two-day Macalester Invitational 2 at Riley Pool. Macalester swam to a couple first-place relay finishes and had five runner-up placings.

Two Macalester relay teams turned in first-place efforts.  Mac won the 800 freestyle in 9:10.21 behind the swims of Paco Venneri (Fy., Los Alamos, N.M.), Josh Tomashek (Fy., Las Vegan, Nev. / Valley), Yamashita and Seth McIntire (Sr., Seattle, Wash. / Garfield).  Winning the 200-yard medley in 1:46.50 were Nathan Young (So., Denver, Colo. / Littleton), Tomashek, Yamashita and McIntire).

Earning second-place individual finishes, in additin to Yamashita in the 400 IM, were Venneri in the 1650-yard freestyle (20:12.05) and Emmett Costel (Sr., Maputo, Mozambique / Monona) in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.35).
