Complete St .Kate's Invitational results
Macalester swam and dove to a third-place finish out of eight teams on a successful day at the St. Kate's Invite. The Scots produced sixth winning individual efforts to gain a comfortable margin for third over UW-River Falls at St. Catherine. Concordia-Moorhead beat St. Thomas for top team honors.
Karoline Hart (Fy., Rexford, N.Y. / Niskayuna) and
Annie Flanagan (Sr., Madison, Wis. / East) led by way with a couple first-place finishes apiece. Hart won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.19) and 200 breaststroke (2:32.89). In the morning's diving competition, Flanagan produced the top marks on the 1-meter board (371.20) and 3-meter board (364.00).
Grace Fleming (Fy., Northampton, Mass.) placed first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:29.32), while also taking second in the 400-yard individual medley (5:03.88).
Clare Pillsbury (Fy., Baraboo, Wis.) won the 200 individual medley (2:20.99) and also added a second-place swim in the 1650-yard freestyle (19:04.96) in the day's final event.
Angie Marvin (Sr., Warroad, Minn.) was fourth in the 200 free (2:09.20) and
Claire Eder (So., Evanston, Ill. / Evanston Township) placed fourth in the 100 back (1:05.98).
The Scots host the two-day Macalester Invitational 2 Friday and Saturday (Jan. 30-31) at Riley Pool. Events begin Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday's competition gets going at 10 a.m. This will be the final tune-up for the Feb. 19-21 MIAC championships.
