Macalester's
Nathan Young (So., Denver, Colo. / Littleton) has been selected by conference coaches as the
MIAC men's swimming & diving co-athlete of the week for Jan. 4-10, along with Gustavus Adolphus swimmer Billy Schultze. Young enjoyed a great afternoon in an MIAC dual meet Saturday (Jan. 10) with St. Olaf at Riley Pool, winning all three individual events in which he was entered. He started off winning the 100 backstroke in 53.10, then came back 10 minutes later to touch the wall first in the 50 free at 22.30. Young finished off the day by winning the 200 backstroke in a seasonal best time of 1:58.50.
Young will defend his conference 100-yard and 200-yard backstroke titles at the MIAC championships Feb. 19-21.
