Mac tourney preview
The Macalester Scots are looking to close out the fall campaign on a high note this Saturday through Monday (Oct. 4-6) when both the men's and women's golf teams participate in the MIAC championships at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.

2008 will mark the third year that both the men's and women's championships have been held at Bunker Hills. The MIAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, held in May 2009, will be awarded to the men's and women's champions on Monday.

All-MIAC players Jordan Matheson (Sr., Vancouver, B.C. / The Nichols School (N.Y.)) and Karla Leon (Jr., Quito, Ecuador / Colegio Menor SFQ) will lead the way for the women's team, with Matheson coming into the tournament with a second-lowest MIAC average on the fall season.

The Macalester men are as balanced as they have ever been and have four players averaging between 79.3 and 80.7, including Daniel Kerwin (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo. / Yokohama International), who placed 13th last weekend at the Twin Cities Classic.
