The Macalester women's track and field team is one of 92 Division III women's programs recognized as 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Teams. The Centennial Conference, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference each had six member schools represented on the All-Academic team list.

The Scots combined to earn a 3.43 grade point average in 2008-09, second best team mark in the MIAC and 19th best in the nation among Division III teams.

The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Scholar Teams of the Year award is based on a combination of academic and athletic achievements, with the top honor going to the team that had the combination of best overall finish at the Division II Indoor and/or Outdoor National Championships and cumulative GPA.

To be nominated, the team must carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative grade-point average.
